The Whispering Hills subdivision was created in 1972 by Lakecroft Beach Estates, Inc. In 1990, the Whispering Hills Property Owners Association of Comal County, WHPOA, was founded, in accordance with our By-Laws, for the purpose of Management and the Enforcement of our Deed Restrictions.

The subdivision is located north of San Antonio, four miles east of Hwy. 281, across from Smithson Valley High School and is bordered by Hwy. 46 on the south and FM 311 on the north. Originally consisting of 542 lots of approximately 1.3 acres each, Whispering Hills is a beautiful place in the Texas Hill Country to call home. Residents can enjoy their property during the day without the hustle and bustle of the city or at night without encountering street lights.

We are an architecturally-controlled subdivision. Prior to ground breaking, our Architectural Committee must review and approve all building plans to ensure compliance with our deed restrictions. The current annual assessment is $24.00, which includes voting rights as an association member. The $24.00 is assessed per owner not per lot. The fiscal year runs from May 1 through April 30, and annual assessments are mailed in APRIL of each year.

In an ongoing effort to improve the neighborhood, the association surveys its members to identify the needs of the subdivision. The results of one survey led to park improvements, a work in progress, that can be enjoyed all year round by property owners and their families. The park is completely fenced and includes a swing set, outdoor play equipment, and a patio area with two picnic tables. All property owners are welcome to utilize the area for children's birthday parties, family functions, etc. Please review the Neighborhood Policies and Laws regarding park usage and the neighborhood in general.
